| ONS Secures Improved Service And Processing Software To Drive Up Efficiency | ||||||||||
| The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the government department responsible for collecting and publishing official statistics about the UK's society and economy. ONS has awarded Root 3 the contract to provide Image Processing Software and Support for the next seven years. The solution will provide the business process control capability for data capture from both paper and faxes without the reliance upon master template comparison. In addition, the solution will be capable of processing forms which are personalised to each respondent. The ONS currently process 50,000 images per day but the modular solution is easily scalable to cope with possible future increases in demand. The award of contract is for 7 years. Leading Examination Body Renews With Root 3 |

City & Guilds is the UK’s leading vocational awarding body, offering more than 500 qualifications over 28 industry sectors, through 8,500 approved centres in around 100 countries worldwide.
City & Guilds chose Root 3 Systems as their data capture supplier in 1996. More recently, as they were looking to expand and improve their capture platform, they invited competitive tenders to replace what had been an extremely reliable solution for 10 years. Root 3 again won the contract to provide the solution. The new solution can process 35,000 pages per day at its peak and is easily scalable as volumes increase. All incoming examination papers from the many City & Guilds approved centres can be automatically receipted and tracked to ensure that centres can be informed of the status of their documents. Captured data can be verified for accuracy against other City & Guilds business systems which include SAP, Oracle and Siebel. Utilising latest technologies means that the examination papers are processed more accurately and efficiently allowing results to be published earlier to both candidates and centres. Root 3’s training and support has enabled City & Guilds to become self sufficient in form set up and processing so that response to their changing environment can be seamless to their centres and candidates.
